Thanks to a ill-timed back injury, I've been out of commission except for performing the most basic and necessary of tasks since the day before Christmas, and even not all of them(I thank God for my wonderful husband, family and friends). I have 2 weeks of physical therapy down and about 2 more to go followed by a couple of months of "being careful". While I am
beginning to understand that PT
actually stands for "professional torture", I am happy to report that I am now walking almost normally and can carefully lift Brady 5-10 times a day without too much trouble (diaper changes now take place on the floor for me) . I am relatively pain free with the exception of some lingering soreness caused jointly by my physical therapist and Brady and I have been drug free for almost a week. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
But, on to the important part. I'm finally feeling good enough to blog again and update everyone on what Brady's been up to for the last almost month.
Brady had a great time at Christmas with all of the family and really got into opening his presents.
He has also decided to begin working on his engineering degree early. He actually selected this book off the shelf and brought it over to his Daddy to read to him. For the uninitiated, it's a Statics Engineering Mechanics textbook which to quote the book is the "underlying art of structural design." Smart boy, he's staying away from all those physics books.

On the less nerdy side of things, Brady has also been learning from his Daddy how to eat chips and dip, a highly important skill for any 1 1/2 year old.

I'm so sorry to hear about your back injury! That must be miserable not to be able to do the simplest things. And I'm sure Brady can't understand why mommy can't hold him! :o( Glad you are starting to feel better!
